So I just noticed that I seem to be updating this site a lot, but not with any news about myself. Most of that has to do with the fact that I am back up at school and therefore incredibly busy (as many of you will know from my “hell week” updates this past week. Just got done with midterms and looking forward to things slowing down a bit. So since things have slowed down a bit, here’s an update on what I’ve been up to!

In between readings for class I’ve been reading a bunch of other things as well so here’s an update of my reading list so far this semester.
Dwelling Places – Vinita Hampton Wright
Last Chance to See – Douglas Adams
The Chocolate War – Robert Cormier

I’ve been writing a lot this semester, so make sure to check the writings section to see the newer poems that I’ve posted. Just to give you a taste, here is my favorite. Don’t forget to leave lots of comments!

I think that I
Am beginning to like my thighs-

Their thickness and weight.
The way pale white
Gives way to brown.
The deep purple-red
Of stretchmarks
Faded with time

I love the way
Their soft plumpness
Encourages caress.
The way
My mesh shorts
Swish across them
With every step.
The comfortable tension
Of jeans stretched over them.

Also, you can now follow me on twitter if you so desire, though I’m not sure why you would want to. But if you feel so led, head on over to my twitter profile.

My classmate, Mike showed me this article today, so I thought I’d share a quote from Italy’s prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi.

“[after] reveling until dawn at a disco in Milan after returning from a meeting with European leaders on how to tackle the financial crisis.”

“If I sleep for three hours, I still have enough energy to make love for another three,” the newspaper La Repubblica quoted him as telling the younger crowd. “I hope that when you hit 70, you’re in as good shape as I am.”

I hope that when I’m 70, I’ll still be spry enough to go hang out at discos at 3 a.m.

As if I need more reasons to love Russell Brand. I love this.

If you don’t know who Russell Brand is, I feel pity for you but I don’t have time to explain. I’ll just leave you with the video.

If this was what happened in debates, I’d probably be more involved in politics.

Who is this guy? He rocks my face.

I know that I’ve talked (at length) about how I don’t like American TV shows, but I feel that I must talk about this show simply because of the unabashed nerdiness of it. The Big Bang Theory is a show starring Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar.

The Pilot episode opens with Sheldon (Parsons) and Leonard (Galecki) coming home to find their new neighbor, Penny (Cuoco) moving in.  Leonard invites Penny over for lunch, much to Sheldon’s dismay. Penny’s common sense and lack of book smarts often clashes with the all consuming geekiness of Leonard and his friends. Hilarity ensues.

One of the best parts of this show is that most episodes stand on their own without the need to see all the episodes previous. So if you haven’t seen any of the episodes so far, don’t worry, you can still tune in and watch without worrying that you won’t know what’s going on.

I think that the major reason that I love this show is because at heart I’m a huge geek, so a show that caters to that side of me is definately okay in my book.

Watch it tonight! It’s on at 7 pm (Central), Mondays on CBS.
